Yes, winter tires are safe in the German winter as they are specifically designed to provide better traction and grip on cold and icy roads. Winter tires have a different rubber compound and tread pattern that allows them to perform better in low temperatures, snow, and ice compared to all-season tires. Using winter tires in Germany during the winter months is highly recommended to ensure safe driving conditions. **

When it comes to winter tires, smaller sizes are generally better for winter conditions. This is because smaller tires have a higher tire pressure, which helps them cut through snow and slush more effectively. Additionally, smaller tires provide better traction and handling on icy roads. Overall, smaller winter tires are more suitable for winter driving compared to larger sizes. **

It ultimately depends on individual preferences and needs. Winter tires can be installed on existing wheels, which can be more cost-effective and convenient for some people. However, complete winter wheels, which include both the tires and wheels, can make it easier to switch between winter and regular tires and can also help preserve the condition of the regular wheels. Additionally, complete winter wheels can offer better performance and handling in winter conditions. Ultimately, it's important to consider factors such as budget, convenience, and driving conditions when deciding between winter tires and complete winter wheels. **
